Effective Date: May 23, 2026 Last Updated: May 23, 2026
This Privacy Policy describes how the NiCam mobile application (“NiCam,” “the App,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the App. NiCam is an independent iOS application that simulates the look and feel of vintage film photography.
By downloading, installing, or using NiCam, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please uninstall the App and discontinue use.
NiCam is developed and operated by an independent individual developer:
For any privacy-related questions, data subject requests, or complaints, you may contact us at boranjobs@gmail.com. We aim to respond within 30 days.
We have designed NiCam to be privacy-first:
If you never make an in-app purchase, no data leaves your device as a result of using NiCam.
To remove ambiguity, the following categories of information are never collected by NiCam:
NiCam does not display the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt because we do not perform any tracking that would require it under Apple’s policies.
NiCam processes the following information only on your device. None of it is transmitted to us or to any third party (subject to the RevenueCat exception described in Section 5, which does not involve any of the items below).
When you grant camera permission, NiCam accesses your device’s camera to provide a live viewfinder and to capture photos. The live camera feed is processed in real time on-device using Apple’s AVFoundation, Core Image, and Metal frameworks to apply film-style filters. The camera feed is never recorded, transmitted, or stored except as a still photo you explicitly capture.
Photos you take inside NiCam are processed on-device (filter, grain, vignette, optional date stamp, optional signature) and saved to your device storage and/or your iOS Photo Library if you grant the “Add to Photos” permission. These photos remain on your device. We do not have any servers that receive them and we do not upload them.
If you choose to import existing photos from your Photo Library into a NiCam roll, those photos are read from your library and processed on-device using the same filtering pipeline. We access only the specific photos you select via Apple’s system picker. We do not scan or index your photo library.
NiCam stores your in-app preferences locally on your device using Apple’s UserDefaults. Examples include:
This data never leaves your device. Deleting the App removes it.
Film rolls and the metadata associated with your captured frames (e.g., film stock used, timestamp, order in the roll) are stored locally on your device.
To offer optional premium (“Pro”) features via subscription, NiCam integrates the RevenueCat SDK (provided by RevenueCat, Inc., a US-based company). RevenueCat is used only to:
When you interact with the paywall or make a purchase, RevenueCat may automatically receive:
Apple itself processes the actual payment. Apple’s handling of your payment information is governed by Apple’s own privacy policy. We never see your full payment card details — these are handled entirely by Apple.
NiCam will request the following iOS permissions. You can revoke any of them at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security, or in Settings → NiCam.
| Permission | Why we ask | What happens if you deny |
|---|---|---|
Camera (NSCameraUsageDescription) |
To show the live viewfinder and capture photos with film effects | The camera-based shooting modes are unavailable. You can still browse imported photos. |
Add to Photo Library (NSPhotoLibraryAddUsageDescription) |
To save the photos you take or process in NiCam to your iOS Photos app | Photos may only remain inside NiCam and not appear in your system Photos library. |
NiCam does not request: Location, Microphone, Contacts, Calendar, Reminders, Motion & Fitness, Health, Bluetooth, Local Network, or Tracking.
NiCam is not directed to children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction, e.g., 16 in parts of the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Because NiCam does not collect personal information from anyone, there is no targeted data collection from minors.
If you believe a child has provided personal information to us in a way we did not anticipate, please contact us at boranjobs@gmail.com and we will take appropriate action.
Because NiCam does not collect personal information directly, in most cases there is no personal data held by us to access, correct, or delete. However, depending on your jurisdiction, you may have certain legal rights as described below. To exercise any of these rights, email boranjobs@gmail.com.
Under KVKK, you have the right to:

Legal bases for processing (under GDPR Article 6) for the limited data described in Section 5:
We do not transfer your personal data internationally beyond what RevenueCat and Apple necessarily do as part of providing their services. RevenueCat is based in the United States; Apple operates globally. Where international transfers occur, they rely on the data importers’ own safeguards (e.g., Standard Contractual Clauses, where applicable).
You have the right to:
We do not “sell” or “share” personal information as those terms are defined under the CCPA/CPRA. We have not done so in the preceding 12 months.
If you reside in another jurisdiction with applicable data-protection law (e.g., LGPD in Brazil, PIPEDA in Canada, POPIA in South Africa, the Australian Privacy Act), you may have similar rights. Please contact us at boranjobs@gmail.com and we will address your request consistent with applicable law.
Because NiCam does not collect personal data on our own servers, the typical risks associated with server breaches do not apply. Your photos and preferences are protected by:
No method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we use commercially reasonable means consistent with the architecture above, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
NiCam may contain links to external resources, including:
We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those external services. Please review their privacy policies independently.
Some browsers transmit “Do Not Track” signals. Because NiCam is a mobile app and does not perform cross-site tracking, DNT signals do not apply. NiCam does not track you, regardless of any signal.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example to reflect new App features, new legal requirements, or changes in our third-party providers. When we do:
Continued use of NiCam after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. If you do not agree with a change, please discontinue use of the App.
